"The best reunion so far."

    -Chicago Tribune

As the sun burned off the early monring fog in the quaint South Chicago suburb of Tinley Park, cars began to fill the parking lot of the vast apartment complex at the corner of R. Ave and Numbered Street.

First to arrive were Rick and John B. who were soon enjoying a delightful lunch of corndogs and Coca Cola.

Bob pulled in about midway through the repast.  After lunch, we all began a game of Balderdash (in which the definitions of obscure words are made up and voted on by the players. )

Gary, fresh from work at V's Home Furnishings, joined in the game shortly after it had begun.  John B. (filling in for Jack who was in route to Japan) was the winner. (Bleck! Ptui!) [The words "Bleck! Ptui!" seem to ahve been added in another hand.  The prevailing thoery is that this was added by Rick V -- but whether at the time or a later date is unclear -- Ed.].

Next we opened our presents, then prepared to go on a horse ride. t this point tragedy struck.

After arriving at the first riding stable, we were told that while they did still have trail rides, there were only three horses availalbe. We fared no better at the next place, which was closed for fear of the dark. Here we went for a walk in the woods and asked a man with a dog and a woman to take picures of us.

We gatehred our thigns and drove togehter to our hotel, the majesstice Day's Inn in East Hazelcreat.

Dinner was from Giordano's pizza and conssted of ceese sticks, pizza bread, stuffed pizza, beer, and coke.  Lemon ice was the unanimous dessert selection.

After dinner we went to Photon and played laser-tag.  Though the employee's explanation of how the game worked left a great deal to be desired, we worked it on our own and had an enjoyable time.

We returned to the hotel and met Kenric and Carol who had just arrived from their grandparents' 50th Anniversary Party.

Between champaign toasts, more balderdash, and beer, we rang int he new year singing Aud Lang Syne.

Breakfast the following morning was probably at IHOP or Dennys.

Over to you Bob.
